Christine E. Reinhard is a partner in the law firm of Schmoyer Reinhard LLP. Prior to forming Schmoyer Reinhard, Ms. Reinhard was a counsel in the San Antonio labor and employment law section of the international law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
Ms. Reinhard's practice encompasses all aspects of labor and employment law. Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Reinhard regularly counsels employers on strategic and complex employment policy and contractual issues. She also represents employers in employment-related proceedings in federal and state court, private arbitration, and before administrative agencies such as the Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and Texas Workforce Commission-Civil Rights Division. Ms. Reinhard handles matters involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, unequal pay, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, negligence and other workplace-related claims.
Ms. Reinhard regularly speaks and provides in-house training on a variety of labor and employment-related topics. Ms. Reinhard authored an article entitled, A Growing Population: Morbid Obesity and the ADA, which was published in both the Metropolitan Corporate Counsel and Municipal Lawyer, and was cited in an article appearing on Knowledge@Wharton, the prestigious Wharton School's online business journal.
Ms. Reinhard received her B.A. magna cum laude in political science and history from Texas A&M University in 1995. She received her J.D. summa cum laude in 1999 from the St. Mary’s University School of Law, where she was the Executive Editor of the St. Mary's Law Journal. During law school, Ms. Reinhard served as an intern for the Honorable Emilio M. Garza, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Ms. Reinhard is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 10th Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas.
Ms. Reinhard is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Foundation. She currently serves as the Immediate Past President for the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association, the 2010-11 Secretary for the Seton Home Board of Governors, and a member of State Bar of Texas 2011 Annual Meeting Planning Committee. She is an active member of various community organizations throughout the San Antonio area.
From 2006 to 2011, Ms. Reinhard has been named by her peers as a Thomson Reuters Texas "Rising Star," a designation given to 2.5 percent of "the best up-and-coming attorneys in the state." Additionally, she has been named in Scene in SA Monthly magazine as one of San Antonio’s best labor and employment lawyers and a rising star from 2006 to 2010. In December 2008, she was also named as one of San Antonio’s "40 under 40" by the San Antonio Business Journal. Ms. Reinhard has also been selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America guide. |
